Is it hot in here?

So, I started watching Sex/Life on Netflix and I actually bulldozed right through it. If you haven’t seen the show you may want to scroll past.

Sex/Life is about a woman who lives in the burbs with her hunky husband and their two kids in this beautiful house in Connecticut. Billie is the woman’s name who is the main character. So Billie gets bored with her life and hasn’t been having the sex life that she so craves. So she starts thinking about her steamy past.

Billie takes out her laptop and starts a journal about her past relationship with Brad. Gorgeous Australian Brad with the hot body. Anyway, she writes in her blog about all the sex they had. I mean SO much sex.

Billies husband finds her journal and starts reading it and actually gets him off. Their sex life starts to get better and she doesn’t understand why. Their is a part in the show where he is in the kitchen and he opens the blog and reads about an amazing sex scene and he takes out his member and gets off, right there in the kitchen. I’m like OMG this is almost too much for me, but damn that was hot.

In my personal life, my sex life isn’t all that glamorous, but I watched this show and I was more then ravished and I pounced on my husband. I applaud the show for giving me a good sex life again.

Sex/Life was basically like watching one of those back in the day Cinemax pornos lol that is what I took from it. I however, enjoyed it very much. The story was a little wonky but that’s okay. The sex made up for it.

Did any of you watch this show? Let me know what you think. I know the show had bad reviews and I believe the only good thing that might save the show is the sex.

What you might not know, is that this was a true story. A woman decided to write her fantasies and her past sex life in her journal and her husband read it. They were fine coming out of all this, but if my husband read something in my journal, I know for sure he would not be okay with it.

That’s it for now guys! I hope you have a rocking day!

Maybe a fresh start?

Okay, so it has been a while since I wrote anything here. I have been struggling with the whole writing thing until last night.

So, I just got home and I had a glass of wine. I hopped on the couch to take in the crazy thunder storms that we were having and I glanced at the TV. I started watching this movie I never saw before or heard of. The movie is called How to Build a Girl. It’s about this teenage girl that seems to want to find herself. The movie seems to start off with the main character named Johanna, who seems a bit nerdy feeling depressed and hard on herself. She loves writing and somehow she stumbles upon this rock and roll critic magazine job. She’s only 16 or 17, and she becomes an instant success. She turns herself into this wild child. She dyes her hair bright red, wears bright red lipstick with full glam makeup, and dresses gothically. She called herself Dolly Wilde. Me personally, I loved it! The outfits the character wore would be what I would wear if I had the balls to. She wore fishnet stockings, short shorts, numerous different provocative tops. The girl could pull it off though.

The story took place in Ireland I think. I couldn’t quite grasp it. Anyway, the point of me writing about this is that the girl had a lot of ups and downs throughout. She was laughed at, made fun of by her so called co-workers, yet she bounced back and kicked ass in the writing world.

Now me personally, I’ve had a lot of struggles with writing lately. If you follow me on here, you know I have wrote a few books. However, I am a self published author. This got me thinking though, maybe I should blog more. Write about my personal self and/or things that I feel strongly about. I love writing, but something has me down.

I remember when I wrote my first novel, it took me literally two weeks to write. I can barely get two words in now in a given day.

Watching that movie last night, opened a door for me. I think it gave me a kick in the ass hopefully in the right direction. We shall see!

Look forward to writing to you soon 🙂

Feels Good

So last Saturday was the local author expo in Bensalem. It was another great experience! I sold about five books in the span of three hours. Few to a girls in the early twenties/late teens. And a couple to two of my aunts that came from out of state.

The people around me didn’t sell close to what I sold so it made me feel even better. I feel like it makes this experience much more special if they sold. However I feel like YA is the way to go. Girls love books it seems, which is great, and they want something juicy to read. My first novel Braver Than Yesterday seems to do a lot better in selling then From Within. Something about a girl being locked in a basement by her captor makes girls rush to buy. I don’t blame them, I love a mystery suspense novel. I changed up both of my novels so they can be YA. Who knows maybe that’s my calling.

I’m just really loving this whole experience. I am currently writing the sequel to From Within, and I’m over half done. I never thought that this would take off for me. I feel like I’m living my dream of writing. Publishing makes it even more amazing. People are out there reading my books and it feels great.

Hey

So I know it’s been a little while since I’ve wrote anything. Life has been super busy. There’s really nothing new going on. The event for the author expo is November 4th in Bensalem, PA which I will be a part of for signing and purchasing.

Also I did reformat both of my novels to the corrected versions. I’ve been taking a writing course and the teacher taught me the correct way to format. I let her read both books and she loved my second one. I think the first novel was a little too much for her, meaning sexually.

The sequel to From Within in going pretty well. I’m about half done which I’m excited about. I thought I would be done it by the time the expo came but that is impossible. I have yet to finish and edit it so I think I have a little ways to go.

Anyways I just wanted to check in. I’m actually about to head out to yoga. Hope everyone had a great Thursday!! Almost Friday!! Yay!!

Event

Well it’s official I’m doing another event at the author expo in Bensalem, PA. I received the email last night. I’m super excited. I think this is a great way to meet people and other authors. This event will take place in the beginning of November, as it becomes closer I’ll talk more about it. That is all I know so far.

I was hoping to finish the sequel to From Within but it’s taking longer then expected so I don’t think it will be ready unfortunately. Sometimes I get writers block so I need to take a break. I’m about half done but it still needs a lot of work.

Anyway super excited for the event!! I’ll talk more soon! Have a great Thursday everyone!

New images

Hey there everyone!

I know it’s been awhile and hope you’re all doing well. I’ve been on vacation for the past week which I can say is pretty great. Haven’t relaxed this much in a long time.

I wanted to let you know my novels Braver Than Yesterday and From Within have new and improved covers. I figured they needed some revamping. The old covers weren’t doing the books any justice. I’m really excited to announce this so please check them out. I would be eternally grateful! Hope everyone is having a safe and fun summer. I’ll be talking to you soon. The third novel is turning out wonderful! Super stoked about it!

Getting there

I know it's been a little while since I wrote anything but I have some things that are going on in my life. First off I am going to a local author expo where I'll bring copies of my two novels and I'll be meeting other authors. That is in September so I'm pretty excited about that!

Second the sequel to my book From Within is scheduled for the fall. It's going very well and I'm very excited for this one. It went a completely direction which I find to be really interesting. Sometimes you just let your mind wander and I think it turned out really well.

That's basically all this happening in the writing world. I am currently working on a new novel that is sort of different then my first two. But more in line with my first one. I think I'm more into the mystery/thriller genre.

If you're a Goodreads follower you should definitely check me out. It's under Melissa Rose Bushèy. Thanks for reading and for the support!

Vacation

I just got home from vacation with the hubby and I have real interesting ideas for my next novel or novels. I’m really excited about it!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July as I did. I didn’t do much, I watched fireworks from the vicinity of my home.

I just wanted to check in with everyone and let everyone know I am on Goodreads and I changed the kindle cover to my first novel Braver Than Yesterday. The paperback will remain the same. I hope everyone will check it out.

Have a good weekend everyone!! Thanks for the support!

Love it

I was so excited when I came home on Sunday and there was a box on my porch. I grabbed it and opened it and to my surprise there were my copies of my new book inside. I was like I have to take a picture of these. They look amazing! I can’t believe I wrote two novels already and working on the third. This journey makes me feel so blessed that I have this gift. It actually makes me feel like I finally have a purpose on this wonderful planet!

If you haven’t yet, please check out my new novel From Within on Amazon and Smashwords. I appreciate the love and support from everyone. I’m so happy I found my calling in life ❤️❤️
