Is it hot in here?

So, I started watching Sex/Life on Netflix and I actually bulldozed right through it. If you haven’t seen the show you may want to scroll past.

Sex/Life is about a woman who lives in the burbs with her hunky husband and their two kids in this beautiful house in Connecticut. Billie is the woman’s name who is the main character. So Billie gets bored with her life and hasn’t been having the sex life that she so craves. So she starts thinking about her steamy past.

Billie takes out her laptop and starts a journal about her past relationship with Brad. Gorgeous Australian Brad with the hot body. Anyway, she writes in her blog about all the sex they had. I mean SO much sex.

Billies husband finds her journal and starts reading it and actually gets him off. Their sex life starts to get better and she doesn’t understand why. Their is a part in the show where he is in the kitchen and he opens the blog and reads about an amazing sex scene and he takes out his member and gets off, right there in the kitchen. I’m like OMG this is almost too much for me, but damn that was hot.

In my personal life, my sex life isn’t all that glamorous, but I watched this show and I was more then ravished and I pounced on my husband. I applaud the show for giving me a good sex life again.

Sex/Life was basically like watching one of those back in the day Cinemax pornos lol that is what I took from it. I however, enjoyed it very much. The story was a little wonky but that’s okay. The sex made up for it.

Did any of you watch this show? Let me know what you think. I know the show had bad reviews and I believe the only good thing that might save the show is the sex.

What you might not know, is that this was a true story. A woman decided to write her fantasies and her past sex life in her journal and her husband read it. They were fine coming out of all this, but if my husband read something in my journal, I know for sure he would not be okay with it.

That’s it for now guys! I hope you have a rocking day!

Birthdays…

I love birthdays, I don’t care what anyone says. I know some people who hate them but I love them. Another year older and little more wiser. They just make me feel special. My birthday was yesterday and it was a wonderful day.

I took off from work to get a massage with my mama which was great! I really needed it. My husband treated me to some shopping and then we went out to dinner. While at dinner I received some fantastic news that an agent is requesting my work. I’m not going to get my hopes up but hey it’s finally nice to get recognized . I wrote my first book almost a year ago and wrote my second book about six months after that. The third book (which is the sequel to the second) is taking a little bit longer due to personal issues. It’s getting there, I’m a little over halfway done.

Anyways as I’m distracted by all that I just wanted to say birthdays are amazing. It means you made it another year and you have another year to look forward to. I know people always say “I’m getting old” well no shit, that’s the joys of growing and aging lol. Growing goes with experience I think.

I’m very appreciative to all the people that wished me a happy birthday yesterday. Friends and family and strangers 🙂 means a lot to me!

Feels Good

So last Saturday was the local author expo in Bensalem. It was another great experience! I sold about five books in the span of three hours. Few to a girls in the early twenties/late teens. And a couple to two of my aunts that came from out of state.

The people around me didn’t sell close to what I sold so it made me feel even better. I feel like it makes this experience much more special if they sold. However I feel like YA is the way to go. Girls love books it seems, which is great, and they want something juicy to read. My first novel Braver Than Yesterday seems to do a lot better in selling then From Within. Something about a girl being locked in a basement by her captor makes girls rush to buy. I don’t blame them, I love a mystery suspense novel. I changed up both of my novels so they can be YA. Who knows maybe that’s my calling.

I’m just really loving this whole experience. I am currently writing the sequel to From Within, and I’m over half done. I never thought that this would take off for me. I feel like I’m living my dream of writing. Publishing makes it even more amazing. People are out there reading my books and it feels great.

Halloween

As the holidays are approaching rapidly I’m pulled to one of my favorite holidays, which is Halloween. I love it! The ghouls and goblins come out and it’s just a downright scary holiday. I love scary anything so this fits me to a T. My favorite genre of film is horror/science fiction. Stephen King is my favorite author so I can’t go wrong there. Last night I went on to Netflix and was excited to finally see Gerald’s Game was out so I immediately turned it on. Let me tell you, don’t watch this flick by yourself. After it was over I went outside to let my dogs out and I was scared shitless! I literally freaked myself out and ran back in the house hahaa it was pretty hilarious. So if you haven’t seen that then I recommend you watch it. I also since I’m a huge fan of the King I decided to watch the series The Mist. I have seen the movie but I was intrigued with what the series held. I turned it on and it was so different, different I mean then the movie. Of course the CGI was a lot better but I wasn’t all that impressed with the acting skills in that show. I will continue to watch it however because I only watched one episode and I was kind of stoked because the woman from the Vikings is in it.

So besides the movies and the television shows, there are books. I love horror novels as well. They give me a type of thrill and rush, especially Stephen King’s. So being that it is Halloween I recommend picking up a good thrilling novel. I just read Black Magick by an acquaintance of mine and I couldn’t put it down. It was thrilling and scary and it had just the right amount of evil in it. Whether you celebrate Halloween or not you can still enjoy a good spooky novel.

Also I wanted to let you know that the author expo is coming up! Yes sir ladies and gentleman it is November 4th in Bensalem, PA so if you’re in the area you should stop by. Click the link below to find out all the information and who will be there! Hope to see you there and Happy Halloween!!

Author Expo information

Event

Well it’s official I’m doing another event at the author expo in Bensalem, PA. I received the email last night. I’m super excited. I think this is a great way to meet people and other authors. This event will take place in the beginning of November, as it becomes closer I’ll talk more about it. That is all I know so far.

I was hoping to finish the sequel to From Within but it’s taking longer then expected so I don’t think it will be ready unfortunately. Sometimes I get writers block so I need to take a break. I’m about half done but it still needs a lot of work.

Anyway super excited for the event!! I’ll talk more soon! Have a great Thursday everyone!

Happenings

I’m pretty excited because I registered for classes again. I’m still doing the writing which believe me I will never let go but I need to finish school. I have 5 classes remaining and then I will finally get my Bachelor’s in Psychology. There’s really not much I could do with that but at least I will have it.

I’ve been fighting with myself for a couple of years whether or not I should finish, I would’ve finished awhile ago but since I have to pay out of pocket it’s a little bit harder to.

In about a week and a half I will be going to the author expo that’s taken place locally. I feel like finally I may actually catch a break. I want to get out there as much as possible and it really is hard. I’m on Goodreads so please check me out there! Also if you’re on Facebook check out my page Here and like my page 🙂

The Perfect Ad

Writing the perfect ad for your book is hard. I’ve been trying to come up with something for both of my novels for an ad and to be honest I’m having a hard time because you want your book to sell. What sells your book? A very well thought out ad. Something that catches the eye and draws you in. I must’ve changed the ad a gazillion times to try and get it right in my ear. I would run it over and over with my husband and he’s like yea try this or yea that sounds good. It’s really hard but it needs to be done. It’s my lively hood so I want to do right by it.

My first novel has a lot of sex, rape, love, & lesbianism in it. I know some of that is controversial but hey it’s what’s on my mind. People like to read that shit!

My second novel is about a girl that dies and comes back to life seeing spirits. Nothing like the first one but I like different! Wait until the sequel comes out.

Hopefully the ads work for both on Goodreads. Look me up if you haven’t already.

Hey there everyone!

I know it’s been awhile and hope you’re all doing well. I’ve been on vacation for the past week which I can say is pretty great. Haven’t relaxed this much in a long time.

I wanted to let you know my novels Braver Than Yesterday and From Within have new and improved covers. I figured they needed some revamping. The old covers weren’t doing the books any justice. I’m really excited to announce this so please check them out. I would be eternally grateful! Hope everyone is having a safe and fun summer. I’ll be talking to you soon. The third novel is turning out wonderful! Super stoked about it!
